Checking out a Theatre!

So, Mary and myself are going to look at a theatre this afternoon! I’m really excited. We’re not ready to sign a contract yet, but it’s really thriling to be moving along. We’re going to Gorilla Tango Theatre in Chicago. It is a small, store front theatre. This is hopefully exactly what we’re looking for for a space for Mind the Gap: small, intimate, and very classic chicago.

I hope everyone crosses their fingers for us! There will be more information to come post-visit!

Mission Statement

It is the goal of Mind the Gap Productions to bridge the transition from an artist's educational career into the Chicago performance community. In order to nurture a vibrant, thought-provoking, and relevant arts scene, it is crucial that these recent students continue to challenge themselves and grow their skills while introducing themselves into a professional community. We will provide these artists with an opportunity to develop highly creative, experimental, and well-conceived professional work. Artists from Mind the Gap will be given opportunities to perform in works developed by the artistic directorship, as well as make and present work of their own. Mind the Gap will also seek to develop partnerships and collaborations with other Chicago arts organizations in order to provide networking for the artists, and to further strengthen the overall community. We encourage our participants and supporters to challenge what performance arts can be, to push their own limitations and boundaries, to get scrappy, to make as much as they can from a whole lot of nothing, to go underground, and Mind the Gap.
